If you are searching around and cannot find the city of The Hague, you may need to look under the name Den Haag. The Hague is the place of government for the province of South Holland and the entire nation of the Netherlands, yet it is not the capitol city of the nation - odd, but true. The Hague, which is always preceded by the capitalized "The," is the home of the upper house of parliament, the Senate and the "Second Chamber." The Hague is also the home of the monarch of the country. Currently the monarch is Queen Beatrix works and lives in The Hague. Also it is the home of almost all the foreign embassies to the nation of the Netherlands. It is also the home to many different international organizations because of the location due to the proximity to the EU headquarters, as well as the extremely tolerant law system in the Netherlands.

While there is tons of excitement happening in the parliament buildings in The Hague, it is still known as a "boring" town by many Dutch residents and tourists to the country. Because of the lack of student life, with only having one small university in the city, and the lack of true business outside of civil servants makes the city not extremely appealing for those looking for something really exciting to do. There are some things to do though if you find yourself in this city with the many museums that tend to focus on the historical aspects of the nation of Netherlands and the top premier league team, ADO Den Haag.
