Amsterdam - 7 Day Itinerary
» Day One
Having seven days to spend in the diverse city of Amsterdam allows you plenty of time to enjoy the city’s sites, as well as a day to check out a few of the interesting environs.
Start your trip with one of the most interesting Amsterdam activities: a canal boat cruise. Amsterdam was built around a system of canals that is larger and more complex that the famous Venice. The interesting combination of streets and canals makes for a fascinating cityscape best viewed from the water. The boat cruises definitely cater to tourists, but they are fun, reasonably priced and very interesting. Most of them depart from the streets around Centraal Station; there are more on Singelgracht near Liedseplein.
After your cruise, spend time strolling around Liedseplein, a square full of restaurants and boutiques located at the end of Leidsestraat, a pedestrian-only shop lined street. It is a fun and lively part of town.
After your canal-boat cruise, you will have a working knowledge of the city layout, and you can spend the rest of the day strolling around and getting acquainted with this lovely city.
