On June 17, dozens of bikers will ride through the city and on a scenic country tour - all with a police escort.

And as if that doesn't sound cool enough, the ride will raise funds for prostate cancer research.

The Golden Horseshoe Motorcycle Ride for Dad starts at Valley Park Community Centre at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 17.

Stoney Creek residents Steve Skuse and Wendy Passmore-Skuse are co-chairs of this second-annual event in Hamilton. A retired and an active police officer in Ottawa started the Motorcycle Ride for Dad in that city seven years ago. Last year, the organization approached the Hamilton Police Association and Wendy and Steve, who is a police officer, took up the challenge.
