Motorcycle vs. Deer: Showdown

This story is already a few days old, but I just came across it. I always wondered, what with the high number of accidents involved in hitting deer with your car, if it was possible for a motorcycle to do the same.

A 46-year-old man from Jackson, New Jersey was operating his Harley Davidson on a dimly lit road, and ran smack-dab into a deer, flipping him over the bike. There's no new report on his condition, but he was obviously hospitalized. No word on the deer, either, but I imagine it's not in great shape.

The last line of the article is something I don't get: "No charges are expected to be filed." Who or what exactly would be charged, and why? Is there such a thing as Deerslaughter on the books? If so, there are going to be a lot of crowded prisons in the south.
