Although specific benefits vary based upon the nature and size of a business, the implementation of a SFA program should extend certain benefits to almost any business. Increased efficiency is one of the more noticeable of those benefits, both for your sales team and your sales management staff. In many cases your SFA software will allow your sales employees to use e-templates, rather than traditional call sheets or sales reports. In most cases your employees can complete those e-templates more quickly than a traditional report, which provides those sales employees with additional time for other things. Your sales managers benefit from that as well, of course, because they receive those reports as quickly as possible. Some other potential benefits include:
• Faster information access: Prior to SFA, on-the-road sales employees confronted with a client question about inventory were usually forced to send a request to the home office and ask for the client’s indulgence. With a SFA application in place, your sales employee can log into your sales network from a laptop and immediately present the client with the requested information.
• Better sales opportunities: Assuming that your employees are willing to input the necessary data about their contacts and customers, many SFA programs can help your business quickly generate new client lists.
• Better sales associates: At least potentially, SFA can also aid you or your sales management team as you review employee performance and make decisions about which employees should work a certain area or product. Given the proper sales data, your SFA software should be able to quickly generate reports that detail – among many other options – the revenues, losses and new clients of each of your employees.
