When it comes to project management, there are different thoughts and philosophies that are taught and discussed. Each of the resources available has their critics. One of the most widely accepted resource available for project management is a book published by the Project Management Institute (PMI) called, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. Also accepted is a standard developed by ISO 10006, Quality management; Guidelines to quality in project management. Another resource accepted is a method developed PRINCE2 or Projects in a controlled environment. This method covers the management, control and organization of a project. There are too many resources to list as it would take days to go through all that is available from books to online availabilities. The key when considering a resource for project management is to look at the successes that have been accomplished by adopting a certain philosophy by the resource. Also, when looking for a resource, take into consideration the type of project to see if it is a comparable project to the one that is currently at issue.
