Project management is a critical part of any business that has goals and targets of taking their business to the next level of success. However, project management is used by every person in everyday life. For example, if you consider the mom who has two children involved in extracurricular activities, school, church and sports, that mom must plan and set strategies for getting each one to their proper destination on time with the resources available. This also includes her normal duties as possibly an employee, volunteer, or homemaker. Project management also includes tasks that are as simple as getting dressed in the morning to brushing your teeth. Most of these are an everyday routine that eventually becomes a habit. Some people are better project managers than others.
Project management involves larger individual projects that are more important, costly and time consuming also. A special birthday party, wedding or a retirement celebration are all projects that require planning and goal setting all in an effort to come to the final result. To be successful at project management, there has to be the incorporation of steps to use the resources available and plan for the proper outcome no matter what the task. Some projects are more important than others but all desiring the same successful outcome no matter how unique the project is.
