Theme parks located in the Los Angels area are for any age visitor. One could spend a week just exploring portions of the parks. There are four major parks and are entrance fee based. After paying your fee, all attractions and rides are free.

Walt Disneyland: This famous Los Angeles landmark opened in 1955 and is the original home of Mickey and his friends. This park has fantasy and fun for all family members. California Adventures is the newest park and opened in 2001. It is 55 acres of attractions including roller coasters, shopping, rafting rides and a Hollywood Pictures back lot tour. If you visit the newer California Adventure’s theme park, it is a must that you ride the Tower of Terror!

Six Flags Magic Mountain: Six Flags parks are traditionally known for their thrill rides and this Six Flags doesn’t disappoint. Rides are based on Warner films such as Superman and Looney Tunes productions. Roller coaster rides are not for the faint hearted! Even though many rides are designed for the thrill seeker, there are smaller rides available for the younger tots.

Universal Studios: This park offers visitors a different slant over the regular everyday theme park. Rides and exhibits are based on Universal Studios most popular films including Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Terminator and Jaws. A back lot studio tour is an interesting peek into the magic of movie and TV making. Universal Studios include shops, restaurants, stunt tricks, animal shows and entertainers. Universal Studios is a fun-filled day for those of any age.

Knott’s Berry Farm: This theme park is first and oldest park in America. It is located just 10 minutes from Disneyland. This park recreates the atmosphere of the Old West with a ghost town and western memorabilia. Entertainment, shops, roller coaster rides and specialty rides ensure your time at Knott’s Berry Farm is a different experience than other theme parks you may have visited.
