When you are looking to outsource your order fulfillment to another company, you must be careful who you choose. Not all companies provide the same service. Plus the costs involved may be different. In order to go with the right company, here are some things to keep in mind:

• Location: There are order fulfillment places everywhere. You can always find one. The most important thing is to select a warehouse that will be close to you so you can do business with them. But it also has to be close enough to your customers as well.
• Size: The size of the place is important to. Fulfillment houses range in size from small to large. It depends on what you are looking for. You need to make your selection based on what you are selling and how much of a product you sell on any given day. This order fulfillment center must be able to handle your load or just move on.
• Shipping: Does the company offer shipping? If not, how do they ship? Who do they use? If they do offer shipping is the warehouse large enough to house everything you have? Also, make sure the shipping options are according to your customers needs.
• Turn-around time: This is important to. If the fulfillment warehouse cannot ship the product out fast enough, you will have unhappy customers on your hands. The fulfillment house must be able to process all income orders within a certain time and have that product out the door in 24 to 48 hours max. If they can’t do this, they are big enough to handle the task.
• Order Entry: Does the order fulfillment service provide order entry. If they don’t you are wasting your time because that means you have to deal with that and you shouldn’t have to. If they do what method do they use for order entry?
• Communication: How do they communicate with you and your customers? You may need to contact the center for information about your orders or other concerns. Can you contact them without any hassles? What access do they provide? Can you reach them by phone or email?
• Costs: Each fulfillment center operates differently. Each one bills differently. You have to be sure the center you are looking at can meet your needs and that can fit your budget. Also, does the center provide some kind of sliding scale, or how is it done?

Order fulfillment can be accomplished when the right people are involved. Always seek your choices and compare. This way you know you are getting what you can afford and can grow your business the way you want.
