If you are building a house or have an existing one and want to add recessed lighting there are countless places you can have them installed. Your possibilities are endless. Whether the recessed lights will be your only light source in a room or work with other light fixtures, recessed lighting is a wonderful addition to any home.
· Kitchen: Kitchens are a great place to add recessed lighting to work as a secondary light source with another fixture. When used along with another fixture type recessed lights can add just the right amount of added light you need while reading recipes or chopping ingredients. They are also a good way to keep a kitchen lit when the main light source is turned off.
· Dining Rooms: The dining room is another room where recessed lights are great as secondary lighting sources. Most people opt for a formal light fixture in their dining room to make the look a dramatic one. Recessed lights are a great way to enhance the overall look and feel of a dining room by adding just the right amount of lighting effect in conjunction with the main light source.
· Breakfast Nooks: This is a wonderful area where recessed lighting can work alone. Most breakfast nooks are right off the kitchen and adding another hanging light fixture can make for an unbalanced look. That’s where recessed lighting comes in. They provide a wonderful amount of light over a kitchen table whether you are eating, balancing your check book, or helping with homework.
· Bedrooms and Living Rooms: Generally in both bedrooms and living rooms people have ceiling fans installed. Ceiling fans can come with a light kit or without. Recessed lighting works well in these rooms with or with out a primary light source. When used as a secondary light fixture in either a bedroom or living area recessed lighting offers the option for lower light when you are watching TV or just enjoying a cozy evening and less light might be needed.
· Bathrooms: Typically in most bathrooms there are vanity lights above the sink and mirror. In larger bathrooms these vanity lights might not put out enough light to give you adequate lighting while in the shower or tub. Recessed lighting is a wonderful option in that case. It can be used along with the vanity lights or alone.
