» What is the cost of synthetic grass?
Installing synthetic grass costs anywhere from five to ten times the price of laying down sod—the real thing—in your yard. At least, that’s the initial investment required. For a 600 square foot yard, the cost would be between $5,000 and $7,000. A large yard could easily cost over $20,000. However, in evaluating the true cost of a synthetic grass yard, you must take into consideration watering, fertilizing and mowing expenses as well as other necessary maintenance costs attributed to lawn care. Companies selling synthetic grass claim that their products “pay for themselves” in a few years. Considering that the life time of the grasses is anywhere from 10 to 20 years, financial savings in the long run is one of the product’s main appeals to customers.
