Container gardening is limited only by the imagination. It can be the simple potted plant on a windowsill or an elaborate balcony garden. It can be an enjoyable and creative way to maintain and experiment with a garden.

You may not have a large area to plant flowers and vegetables, but you can get close to the same effect by growing plants in pots. Even though space is a common reason to try container gardening, there are many other reasons as well.

Convenience is another benefit, especially for vegetables and herbs. Having these at your fingertips is a terrific advantage. The mobility of container gardening makes it easy to rearrange your garden and add new selections of interest and beauty.

No matter where you live or how small your space, you can grow almost anything in a container garden. Since containers come in all shapes and sizes, you can put a container on your balcony or deck, or in a sunny window. Be sure to look at the vertical gardening options too. Your container garden does not have to just sit on the patio or deck. There are many hang containers that can be suspended from a ceiling or against a wall.

Imagination is the key to container gardens. Imagine what kind of plants you want to grow and then imagine the type of containers and before long you will be enjoying the harvest from your garden.
