Many people complain that Vegas stage shows are getting too expensive, but most of them are worth it. Buy the tickets in advance, as many shows sell out, especially during busy holiday weekends. However, don't be discouraged if a show is sold out. It may be worthwhile to check for tickets the day of the event as unclaimed tickets, either for a production show or one-night event, may become available.

If a showroom offers table seating and booth seating, you might want to spend the extra money for the booth. There is nothing worse than sitting at a table and craning your neck for a better view.

Some shows offer general admission tickets, so guests are seated on a first-come-first-served basis. Be sure to get there early if you prefer to be up close and personal with the entertainers.

What's it take to get married in Las Vegas? Certainly Not a lot of red tape. Nevada has some of the least restrictive rules in the country.

• There is no blood test and no waiting period in Nevada.
• Minimum age without parental consent is 18 years of age.
• Any one of the following is required for each person:
• State Driver's License, State ID Card, Military I.D., Passport or Original or Certified Copy of Your Birth Certificate
• If you have been divorced, you must know the date it was final.
• Marriage license fee is $55.00 (cash only).
• Once issued license is good for one year from date of issue.

For the ideal hassle-free wedding, let a local, experienced wedding planner specialist take away the guesswork for you. From limo pickup to reception, you select the package, you select the options, and they’ll do the rest.

If you are looking to book your vacation in Vegas you may find that by avoiding these dates you can avoid some of the crowds and even get a good rate. But if you are still set on visiting Las Vegas during these events, make your reservations very early.

New Year's Eve/Day - Room rates are sometimes doubled, so book early to get a good rate. Beauty salons will be booked to the hilt for the big night and many restaurants will be doing extravagant New Year's dinner packages.

Super Bowl Weekend - One of the bigger weekends in Vegas. The busiest weekend for spas and sports books.

Valentine's Day - If this day falls on or near a weekend, count on all of the hotels being busy. A huge number of people flock to Vegas every Valentine's Day to get married, so booking a chapel might be a challenge.

NASCAR Nextel Cup - This event has been held in Vegas for several years and it draws an insane number of racing fans.

St. Patrick's Day - Perhaps not a recognized holiday in some circles, Vegas will look for any reason to celebrate. In this case, everyone's Irish for a day, or even a weekend, and the Irish pubs around town will be busting at the seams.

Spring Break / Easter - College students and families, especially from the still cold East Coast, flock to Vegas to enjoy sunshine and Vegas entertainment.

Memorial Day Weekend - This is a big weekend vacation. The three-day weekend is an excuse for a non-stop party for many out-of-towners and locals.

Fourth of July - If this falls on a weekend the Fourth will be busy with drinking, gambling, 100-plus degree heat and illegal fireworks.

Labor Day Weekend - Columbus Day - Veterans Day - Any three-day weekend usually draws crowds to Vegas, and these are no exception.

Halloween - Halloween can get pretty crazy in Vegas. Several of the nightclubs sponsor huge costume blowouts. If Halloween falls on or near a weekend, rooms may be harder to get and are more expensive.

Thanksgiving Weekend - Many restaurants serve expansive and expensive Thanksgiving specials and discounted rooms and flights will be harder to come by.

Holiday Season - After Thanksgiving, the entire holiday season becomes another excuse for many family members to use their additional vacation time and spend it attempting to double their holiday bonuses. Malls will be crowded with last-minute shoppers and many restaurants will offer elaborate Christmas dinners.

Before setting your money on fire in the casino remember there is an alternative. Go shopping at the Fashion Outlets in Primm, south of Vegas on the California/Nevada state line. Its circular layout is easy on the feet -- you don't have to backtrack -- and the crowds are invariably light. You can leave the high rent district of the Strip to dig through the racks at the Last Call-Neiman Marcus store, Banana Republic or the Williams-Sonoma Outlet. There are two outlet malls right in Vegas as well. Try the Las Vegas Outlet Center on the south end of the Strip or the Las Vegas Premium Outlets downtown.

Within walking distance or a short drive from all major resort hotels, dedicated shoppers will find vast malls displaying a wide range of products to satisfy the appetite of those in search of bargains, eateries, afternoon entertainment, casual and fine attire, domestic and imported merchandise, brand names, fine art, couture creations, diamonds and gold.

With 20 new developments since 1998 and irresistible hotel and air packages, there's never been a better time to buy a round of golf in Vegas. But even in this golfer's paradise, there are a few tricks to having a perfect par day. When booking a tee time, Friday through Sunday are the busiest, so look mid-week for more availability and better deals. For seasonal bargains, winter (65 degree days and sunshine) and summer in Vegas are ideal. Just remember, morning and evening tee times in summer fill up early so book in advance.

While Las Vegas is known as the number one vacation destination in the world for adults, there are many exciting activities the whole family can enjoy in the Entertainment Capital of the World. Activities for children range from fast action video arcades and water parks to magnificent show productions and exploring the natural and man-made wonders in and around Las Vegas.

So what does a family do for fun in Las Vegas? How about just a day by the pool? How about hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon or at Mt. Charleston? Fishing, boating, rafting and camping are as close as Lake Mead and the Colorado River, just 30-45 minutes from the Strip. Championship, par-three and miniature golf courses abound in Southern Nevada. If you like life on the edge, you might even want to try bungee jumping, sky diving, race car driving, a thrilling roller coaster ride or being launched to the top of the tallest free-standing building east of the Mississippi River.

At night kids can enjoy many of the spectacular stage shows performed at Strip hotels. Witness knights, fair ladies and wizards from the middle ages. Thrill to circus performers. There are comedians, singers and performers of all kinds. And don’t forget everyone’s favorite, the magicians!

You've all heard Las Vegas referred to as an adult playground. For those of us who are denying our adulthood, the casino developers have been kind enough to create mini theme parks. One of the most-raved-about roller coasters on the Strip is the Manhattan Express at New York - New York. Expect lots of twists, loops, dives and inversions at about 67 miles per hour. Although it's not a roller coaster, the Big Shot at the Stratosphere gets high marks for scariness. Imagine being strapped into a chair 1,000 feet above the ground, then being launched 160 feet up a tower in two seconds. Another must-see at the Stratosphere is X Scream, which shoots riders 27 feet over the edge of the tower at speeds of up to 30 mph before pulling them back to safety. We recommend riding both at night, so try to keep your eyes open for the spectacular view. Click here for our guide to Sin City roller coasters.

All of the fun, but without the near-death experience. Motion rides are great because you can enjoy the thrills, but with the added comfort of knowing you aren't really 60 feet up and going 50 mph. But some are definitely better than others. In Search of the Obelisk at the Luxor is probably the highest-impact simulator ride in town, competing with Excalibur's Merlin's Magic Motion Machines. For true Trekkies, Star Trek: The Experience is a must. With your admission to one or both rides (Klingon Encounter and BORG Invasion 4D), you'll also see Star Trek costumes and props on display while you wait. And for something completely different, at the Sahara's Cyber Speedway you sit in a real Indy car and "drive" through the streets of Las Vegas at 220 miles per hour. This virtual reality ride is a great way to get rid of road rage.

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace although predominantly a place to shop and dine, this indoor mall has a few unique attractions to offer as well. Foremost are the animated statues and laser show at the center pavilion. Statue Animations are about every half hour and are nearly unbelievable. Watch Bacchus come to life and chat amongst the other gods and goddesses while above you a fantastic laser light show brings the ceiling to life too. The newest attraction is the free Atlantis show outside the new IMAX Theatre. Here you can watch a tale of Atlantis rise from the sea and as the Gods decreed sink back to the ocean bottom and afterwards venture into the IMAX for an Atlantis oriented thrill ride. Also while there, keep an eye on the sky-like ceiling which very subtlety changes from dawn to dusk over the course of about a half an hour. Great arcade for kids, a magic shop with constant demonstrations and one of the largest FAO Schwartz toy stores.
