While, of course, you can go shopping in Kentucky at malls, Walmarts, and other typical nation-wide stores; some of the most interesting shopping for vacationers happens in the Southern Stores with country crafts that are both handmade and high-quality.
For example, the 1792 Store (part of the Kentucky Historical Society) is considered a perfect place to find homemade souvenirs and quaint traditions. Creek and Hollow Crafts has a similar reputation, well-known and admired for its quality country crafts. Many of the Historic Properties also sell keepsakes like the Kentucky State Capitol ornaments and other holiday ornaments that not only provide you with a unique memory but also raise money for historical preservation projects and other efforts in Kentucky.
