Kentucky's Sports and Recreational Activities

The name “Kentucky” is often synonymous with thoroughbreds and the Kentucky Derby. Kentucky’s race horses are known across the nations, and its race tracks are filled year after year by locals and visitors alike. One of the most traditional affiliates of Kentucky’s racing is Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby, which has been around since 1875. There are also many other horse racing tracks throughout the state, including thoroughbred and standardbred. You can also visit Keeneland, located near Lexington, a thoroughbred race course and sales company. Turfway Park is another course that races Thoroughbreds, and it does it all year round. Or participate in the Kentucky Derby Festival, a celebration unlike any other.
