AM and PM Activity

For the last day you may already have an idea of what you would like to do so your trip can finish with a bang and to leave this great city on a high is something all holidaymakers want to achieve. The best thing you can do if you have no idea what you would like do, is to book something so extreme and no money budgets that you and the family wouldn’t normally do.

Sometimes you can get a top day out for no money at all, you don’t always need to spend top dollar to enjoy yourself so always look at the free exhibitions as well but it is important to remember, not to overlook anything.

One part of a visit to Rome is to scale the Spanish steps. Known as Scalinata di Spagna, you will need to be physically fit because it takes you through the areas of Piazza di Spagna right up to Trinita dei Monti. This is not the only thing waiting for you, there is the Keats – Shelley Memorial House which is dedicated to two of the greatest poets. The house is a major part of Roman folklore and many artists, poets etc have lodged here and in 1819 Percy Bysshe Shelley had this to say about Rome. “Rome is yet the capital of the world. It is a city of palaces and temples, more glorious than those which any other city contains, and of ruin more glorious than they”

If you would like more information on the museum then you can visit the website and I say for those budding authors and/or artists, I would take some time out to visit the museum. www.keats-shelley-house.org.

Top Tip: If you manage to ascend the stairs then apart from the museum, you will come across a great array of shops and restaurants available at your disposal. I do strongly suggest taking part in the climb and benefiting from what is available because this purely is an all day activity.

Dinner

For your final meal in this outstanding city, I would look for a restaurant of pure elegance and whilst all restaurants are normally outstanding, there is always one that will be slightly better than the other so such carefully.

One restaurant that comes highly recommended is the Antico Arco restaurant. It is located near the American University of Rome so it very popular and with the surroundings like an attic room but with taste, it does fill up fast.

The menu is equally as impressive and has a wide range of pizzas and pastas for all tastes and even for a vegetarian. Prices are excellent but reservations are essential so book at lease 24 hours ahead. Located in the Piazzale Aurelio area of Rome, you can contact the restaurant on 06/5815274. Book as soon as possible to afford disappointment, this is the way a dining experience should be.
