You don’t always have to have fancy or ultra modern accommodation because for many visitors, they will be out too much to notice what they are paying for. For me, as long as it is clean, comfortable and not a million miles away from civilisation then I am happy.

Staying at a bed and breakfast has the added benefit of being able to have breakfast thrown into the price if you wish, you don’t have to stay every day but is a little element that saves the search for somewhere to eat.

This is one type of accommodation where prices will vary greatly and one of the best value for money I came across was the Gianicolense Bed and Breakfast, for two people that are sharing and have the use of a private bathroom, the price is 78 euros per night and as it is located just 10 minutes from older parts of Rome and is very suitable if there are any children in the party.

One little surprise for the bed and breakfast is the wonderful terrace that is located on the ground. It is decorated with wonderful flowers and if you wish, you can have that important first meal overlooking some of the great sights on offer to a temporary resident.

If you visit the website then you have the chance to contact the owners with any queries that you may have but I do highly recommend this bed and breakfast for its simplicity yet elegance and easy routes to Rome’s historic centre. http://www.b-b.rm.it/accommodations/desc.php?id=25
