Just one of the many great roman emperors that were to rule all of the roman population. Starting out in the army, he worked his way through the ranks and built up his admirers and later became possibly one of the greatest rulers Rome was to see.
Born in 100 BC, he enlisted in the army around 81 BC and he was renowned for becoming the first person to invade England. He did this successfully on two consecutive years in 55 and 54 BC.
As a major figure head, it become popular very fast but many believed that the success was going to his head and in 44 BC, those who wanted him dead did so in a bloody fashion. Caesar was stabbed dozens of times and about 14 people took part in the murder. It happened at the Senate House in Rome and whilst this divided the nation from news of his death, it remains one of the most speculated crimes throughout the world.
Caesar did nothing to provoke such an attack, in fact it was the opposite. He wanted the senate to run at peak efficiently and it is believed that the murderers would rather kill in cold blood than admit that Caesar may have been right.
