This is another outstanding piece of history that still remains today and that is Hadrian’s Wall. With many major conflicts breaking out, there was more means required to stop further invasions and this is exactly what happened.
In Ad 122, instructed by Emperor Hadrian, construction began along some of the most northerly parts of England. It was built completely out of the stone and in places was six meters high and three meters wide, two guards would pass each other simultaneously and not even know due to the sheer size of this mainstream attraction.
Whilst enemy soldiers need get within the confines of the wall, it made it overall harder and there was more chance of defending the northern towns with little or no risk at all.
Almost all of Hadrian’s Wall still stands today and whilst there is no more use for it, it does manage to attract thousands of visitors every year but as long as history goes back, this great piece of engineering has seen it all.
