On your final day, make your way to Milan. You can enjoy the towns of Padova, Vicenza, and Verona on your way.

Milan is Italy’s most sophisticated city and a wonderfully chic place to end your journey. It is home to both financial powerhouses and fashion design legends. The Duomo di Milano, located on the main square in the center of Milan, is one of the most famous buildings in all of Europe. It is a massive and elaborate Gothic Cathedral. Milan is most well known for being home to Leonardo’s masterpiece The Last Supper, which is painted on a wall at the convent of Santa Maria della Grazie. Viewings are in 15-minute slots and advance reservations are required.

Fashionistas will want some time to browse the Milan boutiques. Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, and Armani are just a few of the famous designers who base their work out of this fashionable city.

Milan is also a center for the performance arts, and the city’s Teatro alla Scala is the world’s most famous opera house. Enjoy a show if you can, but if you can’t catch a performance, you can still wander through the Theater Museum.

Regrettably say goodbye to Italy and hope your wish at the Trevi Fountain comes true: to someday return to Rome, as well as the rest of this majestic and historical nation. Ciao!
