Consider your last day in Florence a catch-up day to visit anything you may have not had time for, or to revisit the sites you want to explore further. With so much to choose from, there are bound to be several spots you want to hit again.

If not, consider visiting some of the less common tourist spots: the Basilica di Santa Croce and the Basilica di Santa Maria Novella. It in a city with such a plethora of beauty, and visitors with limited itineraries, these churches can be passed over, but they are certainly worth taking the time to visit. The Palazzo Medici-Riccardi is another of the Medici residences you can tour.

If you want to spend some time shopping, you can return to the Ponte Vecchio to purchase a trinket to take home with you. Florence’s most famous market is the Straw Market (Piazza del Mercato Nuovo). Not only can you find straw goods, but leather goods, linens, and hand-painted boxes are plentiful as well. This is the best part of town for purchasing remembrances of your glorious time in lovely Florence.
