Though Florence’s wonders are endless, having an entire week allows you time to explore the rest of Tuscany. Rent a car and hit the road to the city with the famous leaning tower: Pisa.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa was intended to stand vertically and serve as a bell tower. But shortly after construction began in 1173 it started to lean, and its tilted status has made it one of the world’s most recognizable buildings. Also worth visiting in Pisa are the Piazza del Duomo, the Il Duomo, and National Museum (Museo Nazionale do San Matteo). Spend you day enjoying this lovely Tuscan village and head back to Florence for the night.
