Sometimes buying an auction is a choice for many and for some this is one method of house purchasing they don’t want to pursue. Everyone is different but never feel pressured to buy and certainly don’t get caught up in the heat of the moment.
It happens all too often where people are trying to outbid each other and it becomes more of a competition than actually buying a wonderful house, never let this happen, set an auction budget and stick to this. Some many go a couple of thousand dollars over but you can expect to pay over the odds for a home that could be in a good or bad condition.
Always be certain before bidding that the house is one you want and it is even more important to view it thoroughly before the day of the auction and if possible employ the services of a surveyor who can advise you on any work that may be required and how much it will cost to put it right. This can influence your final purchase price and it may be possible that you achieve an excellent deal and a great family home.
Top Tip: When viewing with the agent, never be afraid to ask questions because once the auction has commenced, you would have lost the chance and it will be too late to discuss any final reservations that may put you off and it is a 50/50 chance of getting a dud or even losing out on the chance of getting a beautiful property that instantly has thousands of equity immediately.
