Day Four

After a Mexican meal you may be feeling a little worse for wear because Mexican food is generally quite kicking and can be spicy so it is best to let the food settle by relaxing in a local park.

 

The Elf Rock State Park is located within the Knoxville area of Iowa and like most parks, offers beautiful scenery with hiking trails, swimming and the chance to pitch up for the night if you really enjoy yourself. Iowa has many great parks to visit and it doesn’t cost anything for major relaxation.

 

One restaurant that comes highly recommended and you will want to visit over and over again is the Balltown, Breitbach’s Country Dining. It is known as Iowa’s Oldest Bar and Restaurant and its doors open in 1853 which today offers plenty of homemade cuisine and offer chicken and even fresh catfish from the nearby Mississippi river.
