» Day Two
Breakfast
If you visit Subway on Main Street in Marshalltown, you can get excellent breakfasts at this family café and you can get a variety of drinks such as orange drinks and may breakfast sandwiches or you could have a traditional breakfast to get started, it is completely up to you, there is certainly a good choice for everyone.
If you are unsure of where and you don’t want to make use of any on sight restaurant then I would contact the local tourist agency who can advise on the best places to try and whilst you don’t have to take their advice, they are there to help.
AM and PM Activity
If for your last day you want an excellent piece of history, then I would recommend visiting the Iowa State Historical Museum. It takes visitors through the entire story of the civil war that once affected this great nation and the museum wants to share the brutal but amazing story of what happened many years ago and it shows how a civil war changed the United States history for good.
Another part of the attraction is the various battle flags that were used during great wars and with some, bullet holes and blood stains are clearly evident. All artifacts are real and it will amaze how the civil war was fought and later added to the timeline of major American history.
There is a lot to be learned and students of all ages can benefit from such a trip and it may even prove to help with those important exams that may be coming up, it may be educational but many exhibitions bring it to life in an interesting and detailed way.
Lunch
You may only decide to have a light lunch and I would suggest on the final day, looking for a beautiful park as Iowa has many of these and settling down in the sun to enjoy one final meal in this wonderful state.
Just sitting back and watching the world go by can be an ideal option for many people and it gives everyone the chance to sit back and reflect the activities that has been done whilst on holiday.
Dinner
By now you may have found many places that you would like to have tried but in such a short time, it was impossible to eat everywhere you wanted to go. The best option is to choose one place you would really like to go and this way you and the family won’t be disappointed.
Bittersweet on the Bluff is located just off Highway 20 near East Dubuque and offers a range of atmospheres, from romantic candlelit dinners to family atmospheres where everyone can relax before the long trip home the following day. The restaurant overlooks the bluffs by the Mississippi River Valley.
The restaurant offers traditional American cuisine and due to its popularity, reservations are recommended. If you have any queries about the menu or you have decided to visit then you can contact the restaurant on (815) 747-2360. It can provide an excellent finish to a wonderful short break and there is the added benefit that if you really enjoyed it that much, you can always visit again in the future and perhaps for a longer period of time.
