Many individuals have changed the American history for the better and thanks to such people this offers a better life for all American residents.
Catt was born on January 9th 1859 in Ripon, Wisconsin and she was to become a major campaigner for women’s rights. She found the League of Women voters in 1920 which resulted in the ratification to the 19th U.S. Constitution amendment which after over 100 years of history, it allowed women to vote for the first time and this put life back into the NAWSA (National American Woman Suffrage Association). This changed the life for many women throughout the United States.
Top Fact: Carrie Chapman Catt was not just completely dedicated to the cause of Women’s rights, she was also a journalist and author and she published books on her fight to gain the ability for women to vote. If someone like Catt hadn’t come along, there is no telling how history would be now but women have the same freedom as men and in this equal rights society, it is just the way it should be.
