» Your data is back; what now?
Okay your information is right back on your computer, provided it is still working. And you are now ready to get back to work, or are you? Sometimes after you have recovered your data on your computer, there is still something wrong with the hardware. The first step to take is to make sure that your data is safe on a secondary device. You should probably also have your hardware tested by a professionally trained staff – either at a electronics store or through the company your purchased your items from.
The next step depends on the faith you have in your hardware and drives that messed up already once. You can either get a new set-up that will probably be more trustworthy or put your old stuff on a trial basis. When you place your hardware on "trial," simply test it for about three weeks while keeping a very close eye on your data that is on it. Do not take for granted that your information is going to be saved everyday, so back up your data every single night. Even after this three-week process you may feel uncomfortable with your current hardware. I would caution you to try to get another piece of equipment. Most times the hardware is going to mess up again. Also make sure that you refer to the cautionary steps that are included in the previous questions.
