What media devices and specific industries is date recovery for?

This is a two-part question. The first part is asking what device or physical things companies or software can retrieve information off of. There is a good chance that most of the devices that have been used for the last ten years will be on this list, but your eight tracks from the 70’s that finally broke is probably done.

The media sources for recovery from hard drive categories are: desktop drives, laptop drives, external USB drives, fire wire drives, raid arrays, network attached storage drives, and network appliance drives. The media sources for recovery from removable media categories are: digital camera cards, flash storage media, USB pen drives, floppy disks, Compact Discs, DVDs, Iomega Zip drives, Jaz drives, Clik! Drives, and HDD drives. As you can see, this is a long list of possible media sources for data recovery, so hopefully your source is among these.

The other part of this question is focusing on certain industries that may need the services of a data recovery company. The companies include any corporation that deals in financial records such as banks, insurance companies, investment corporations, or others. Also companies dealing with emergency situations such as hospitals, forensic labs, 911 call centers, and disaster response teams may find it vital to have their information back within minutes or hours from a period of data loss. These companies are not an extensive or complete list by any measure. You could probably include college students, small business owners, elementary schools, and yourself in this list easily.
