This is an important question if you choose to purchase a VoIP, KSU or PBX system.. With any of those system choices it’s almost a certainty that your vendor will handle the installation and maintenance of the system, so it’s crucial that you’re comfortable maintaining a long-term working relationship with that vendor. Factors to consider include:
• Reputation: Ask potential vendors for references. Check with those references and ask about the professionalism of the vendor’s staff and the affordability and quality level of the installation and maintenance services of the vendor.
• Experience: Phone system vendors usually offer several types of business phone systems, so you’ll want to ask about their level of experience in the installation and maintenance of your particular system.
• Training: Given all of the features available in the high-end systems, your employees may find the system too complex for easy use. Will your vendor provide training for your employees in the use of the system? Who among the vendor’s employees provides that training, and is it reasonably priced?
• Office visitation: Many of the more expensive systems require the rewiring of your office. It’s thus important that your vendor is willing to visit your office and carefully examine it, because it’s unlikely that the vendor can provide you with an accurate quote otherwise.
