1. Lifting Equipment- Industrial lifting equipment is designed to move or lift industrial goods from one location to another. A variety of industries utilize lifting equipment, including construction, automotive and garage repair shops, and electrical industries. Machines like these provide access to high places and are useful in reducing manual labor costs and in keeping workers safe. There are several different types of lifting equipment. Among them are lift tables, lift trucks, and lifting magnets.
a. Lift Tables- Sometimes described as a relative of the forklift, lift tables are useful for lifting and lowering people and materials when work is being done at a height without conventional access. Lift tables typically operate with different types of mechanisms, depending on what they will be used for. For example, the scissors lift uses linked folding supports that draw together to lift. One such manual scissor lift can be operated with a foot pump. Lift Tables also are equipped with safety features, such as counterbalances and rails. They are useful anytime you need to lift a variety of items to a high shelf, such as in a grocery store or a repair shop. There are several things to consider when choosing a lift table. Be sure to check the lift capacity, vertical lift travel, platform width, and platform length.
b. Lift Trucks- Lift trucks are most useful for moving things from one place to another. They are particularly effective for lifting and moving pallets. They are made out of different materials and have different capabilities, depending on the type of environment they will be functioning in and what they will be used for. Some are made for a longer life, and thus, have a special galvanized coating. Others are made with high-lift capabilities. There are two main types of lift trucks: manually operated and electrically operated. There are also two different capacity types: less than 5500 lbs. And over 5500 lbs.
c. Lifting Magnets- Lifting magnets safely move steel without direct attachment by hooks, cables, or slings. They come in a variety of sizes, strengths, and models depending on the type of lifting being done.
