Locations

The greater Indianapolis metropolitan area is broken into four locations. We’ll share the best hotels at each location using several different criteria.

 

 

Hotels are plentiful in the downtown area of Indianapolis. If you stay in this area, you’ll be within walking distance of the Convention Center, as well as the RCA Dome and Conseco Fieldhouse, the two homes of the major league sports teams in Indianapolis. There is also plenty of upscale shopping and dining within easy walking distance of any of these hotels.

The Canterbury Hotel is one of the finest hotels in all of Indiana, the state’s sole member of the renowned Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. The hotel includes a private entrance for guests to access a mall including some of the finest upscale shops in the downtown area. Some of the featured amenities at this fine establishment include banquet facilities, meeting facilities, data ports on phones, VIP services, valet, mini-bar, newspaper delivery, a gift shop, safe deposit boxes, and a fitness facility.

Location: 40 West Jackson Place

The Omni Severin is loaded with amenities, both those you would expect, and some that may surprise you. The fine hotel offers an indoor pool, bathrobes and coffee makers in all rooms, a business center, fitness facility, a café, restaurant and bar, newspaper delivery, and safe deposit boxes. They also offer several unusual features, including Nintendo 64 games in the rooms, video checkout service, daily children’s programming, and even a pet policy (restrictions and fees apply).

Location: 50 S. Capitol Ave.

To get this price on a hotel of this quality in this location is outstanding. The Westin offers an indoor pool, easy access to much of the city’s finest entertainment and dining, and many other amenities. To pay this price somewhere outside the downtown area wouldn’t be that great of a deal, but to get a four-star hotel in downtown Indianapolis for this price is a steal to be sure.

 

 

The hotels in this region of the city have easy access to I-465, I-70 and State Route 40. The surrounding suburbs are Cumberland, Lawrence, and Warren Park.

The entire hotel was remodeled in 2001, and the guest reviews are outstanding. The hotel includes all the amenities you would expect from an establishment of this quality, as well as complimentary parking and whirlpools in some rooms.

The Marriott is the only three-star hotel in this region, and you can tell it by the list of amenities. Along with the items listed above, this hotel also has easy access to some of the city’s best dining and nightlife, all while avoiding most of the downtown rush.

Location: 2349 Post Dr.

Average Price: $59

 

The Baymont Inn and Suites is located a convenient ten-minute drive from downtown. Some of the featured amenities include a continental breakfast, meeting rooms, laundry facilities and a bus/RV parking lot.

 

 

This area is nearest the Indianapolis International Airport, something you’ll want to consider if you’re traveling by plane. It is near the suburbs of Plainfield and Brownsburg.

This hotel boasts that it is within minutes of downtown Indianapolis and “steps away from the Indianapolis International Airport.” It features luxury body care products in each room, a restaurant and lounge, newspaper delivery and meeting facilities.

This Holiday Inn, located extremely close to the airport, offers a surprising list of amenities. In addition to all the standard amenities (including an indoor pool), they offer children’s activities, free local calls, a sauna, and refrigerators in each room.

 

Name: Amerihost Inn Plainfield

Location: 6105 Cambridge Way (Plainfield, IN)

Average Price: $59

 

The Amerihost Inn Plainfield boasts the best value in this area, with amenities including an indoor pool/whirlpool, complimentary newspaper, meeting room and fitness facilities.

 

 

This area is easily accessible from a large number of interstates, including I-69, I-70, I-465, and I-865. Close to the suburbs of Fishers, Carmel and Noblesville, this area provides access to the popular Keystone at the Crossing part of town.

For shoppers, there are four malls within 20 minutes of this hotel, including two within two miles. This Sheraton is located at one of the most beautiful locations in the city, the fabulous Keystone at the Crossing. Amenities include on-foot access to a 130-store shopping mall, aerobics classes, complimentary parking, a fitness facility and a game room.

Here you have a 2 ½-star hotel for a very reasonable price. This is a beautiful hotel with a grand staircase in the center of the lobby, complimentary breakfast, free high speed Internet access, a fitness center and an indoor pool.
