Dickson Mounds State Museum

This museum is a hidden surprise in the Illinois area and is one of the biggest on-site museums completely dedicated to archaeological finds and it provides a major hands on experience to all visitors.
The museum located to the west – central part of Illinois it takes you back through over 12,000 years of history and provides an excellent step back to the early days of American-Indians in Illinois. Admission is free and there is a lot to be learned about the great history that the combined towns and overall state have to offer.
