The mall has been recently expanded and with over 2.4 million square feet of retail space it is the fourth largest mall in the nation and it is the store that is known as “the city within a city” The opening hours for the mall are Monday – Saturday 10am – 9pm and Sunday from 11am – 7pm.
2) A visit to the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science is a popular choice that gives you and the family an opportunity to have a “hands on” experience on how the human body works. Throughout the exhibit you will come across a variety of audio kiosks where you can ask any burning health or human anatomy questions and the main part of the museum is decorated with a 22 foot long backbone with ribs descending from the ceiling to the floor which gives visitors a feel of being inside a large rib cage. The hands on experience gives you the opportunity to witness and try a variety of activities such as seeing how vocal chords work, hearing valuation tests, safety demonstrations such as eye goggles and drink driving. There are many other sections such as the brain teaser section where you will have the chance to solve a range of rather complex puzzles or if you would prefer then you should visit the Sensory Garden where you can have a piece of tranquillity where you can stop and smell the flowers and listen to some of the birds that live in the garden, it is one place where you could sit for hours and relax. If you want to visit the museum then it is closed on Mondays but from Tuesday to Saturday it is open from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday is from 12pm – 5pm. The cost of access is just $6 and $4 for children but if you visit on Thursdays between 2 and 5pm, admission to the museum is completely free.

The market has been opened since 1989 and this is one area that covers over 105 acres, it is the largest market on the Texas Gulf Coast and you can find a wide number of bargains no matter how large or small – items like furniture, electronic, clothing and general bargains are just waiting to be snapped up. After all the excitement then you have the choice of 5 different food courts to visit in the FunPlex Mall and within each of the 5 places you can choose from traditional pizzas, hot dogs and cotton candy but if you want a bigger meal then you could enjoy a barbecue or perhaps a freshly made salad.
