If you wish to stay in the downtown area of Houston which is one of the best locations you can get in terms of all the facilities and attractions being right on the doorstep but you need to be prepared that prices within this area are a lot higher than in other directions but one thing is for certain, the quality is there.

1) A stay at the well known chain of Best Western hotels is a popular choice but it can be quite expensive in terms of the nightly price but the quality and facilities available on and off the complex are always there. It is one of the newest properties within the area which comprises of 76 rooms over 4 floors where you can choose the size of the suite but all rooms offer micro-fridge, coffee maker, hairdryer, cable TV, iron and ironing board, free high speed internet connection and in room safe. On the complex you will find the fitness center, business center and most importantly an outdoor swimming pool and restaurant/bar area. The cost ranges from $100 - $149 per person, per night and a daily continental breakfast is included within the price.

2) The Alden Hotel offers a very chic environment and is within walking distance of Bayou Place and the theatre district with many other facilities being available due to its location in downtown Houston. There are 97 rooms to choose from and included in the price you will receive free high speed internet access, DVD player, satellite TV, coffeemakers, bottled water, hairdryers and bathrobes and rooms are all styled with a complex and beautiful Italian marble and light wall colors. You can be guaranteed luxury within the area and on the complex you will a gym, business center, lounge/bar area and not one but two restaurants. It is slightly more expensive than other hotels in the area but the overall quality is high and you can expect to spend between $150 and $199 per person, per night.

3) In terms of location, you can get no better than the Doubletree Hotel which is located adjacent to the Sam Houston Park (an excellent location with a great local history). Just some of the local attractions are the Six Flags Astroworld Theme Park and the Astrodome which is situated about 6 miles from the hotel. There is a staggering 350 rooms available over 20 floors and each room comprises of coffeemakers, desks, iron/ironing board, cable TV, high speed internet and voicemail. On the complex you will also find a wide array of facilities which included a gym, business center, safety deposit boxes, gift shop and a variety of dining options at the on site restaurant. A major benefit for those wanting to explore the downtown area is a free daily shuttle service from the hotel directly to the downtown area. The two main hotels within Houston are able to be reached easily with the William P. Hobby Airport being 12 miles away and the George Bush Intercontinental Airport is 21 miles away. Prices are $200 or more may seem a little expensive but in terms of location you are paying for quality and one of the best areas in Houston.
