When you're shopping for land, consider the proximity to major roads, industrial areas, large farms and commercial areas. If you're buying a piece of land in town somewhere, how active is the street you'll be living on? Look to see if there are fire stations, police stations, hospitals, etc. in the surround area.
Also consider how close the property is to its neighbors. If you or your potential neighbors are known to throw large parties often, listen to loud music, work on cars, etc., this could possibly lead to disagreements if your neighbors are very close in proximity to you.
