Plasma TVs and LCD TVs

Obviously, the clear winner is LCD TVs. They are much better to have, lighter, and easier to install. However, for those enthusiasts who want to shop around and are curious what models are available, here are some plasma and LCD TVs that are currently on the market:
 
·        Plasma TVs: Before we go into LCD TVs, plasma TVs will be covered first:
o       HitachiThisone has a screen size of 42 inches. The resolution is 1024 by 1024. This can only be placed on the floor or on top of a sturdy surface. The price is $4,000.
o       NEC – This screen is also 42 inches and has a wide VGA resolution of 853 by 480. Very small viewing area. The price for this plasma TV is $3500.
o       Panasonic – This one has a viewing area of 50 inches and the resolution is 1366 by 768. Not too bad. The contrast is great though at 3000:1. The price is kind of steep at $3400.
·        LCD TVs: Now we will cover LCD TVs:
o       Benq: This one has a size of 37 inches with a resolution of 1920 by 1080. Good for HDTV. The contrast ratio is 800:1. The price for this unit is $2100.
o       Benq: This one is also made by Benq, but it is much smaller. The viewing area is only 20 inches and has a resolution of 800 by 600 in SVGA mode. The contrast ratio is 500:1. The price for this one is a cheap $600.
o       Sharp: This is the best that Sharp has to deliver. It has a 45 inch screen size and a resolution of 1920 by 1080. Great for HDTV. The contrast ratio is 800:1. The price for this model is $6500.
