LCD vs. Plasma TV's Overview

When you are at home resting from a hard day at work, you want to enjoy looking at your TV. You want the comfort of being able to look at whatever you want to see in comfort and style. The problem is with different types and styles of TV’s around it are hard to choose. In today’s technological world, there are two major players on the market that needs to be looked at: LCD and plasma TV’s. The problem is which one is the best? Which one to choose? This article will take a look at both types and give you information about both along with what is available on the market for you to try. Before we get into any comparisons, let’s review what type of ways plasma and LCD can be used:

 

·        Plasma TVs: Can be used two different ways: as multimedia displays and public displays

o       Multimedia displays – These types of displays provide great image quality and offer compatibility.

o       Public displays – These types offer larger-than-life flat panel displays.

·        LCD TVs: The development of LCD TVs allows for the creation of larger screens along with much higher resolution. Because the available of this design is plentiful, many people are switching to LCD TVs and getting rid of the cold CRT TV. Here are some reasons why:

o       Lightweight – By being lightweight and portable, this means TVs no longer have to be big and bulky. Instead, they take less space and can be mounted on the wall or even under entertainment cabinets.

o       Better brightness – With LCD TVs, the brightness and contrast is much better.

o       HDTV – With high-definition TV, people can live the experience of being in a movie theater without leaving the home.
