There are going to be a lot of numbers thrown in your face when you’re purchasing speakers. So here is a short bit of information regarding the important ones.

• 5” bass – This gives you the physical description of your bass woofer. Though the physical descriptions of your other speakers do not matter very much, the size of a woofer is important. An 8-inch woofer is going to give you a good amount of bass.
• -6 db at 60 Hz – This is another bass sound specification. Most speakers will allow you to go up to about 20 KHZ, but a good bass sound will allow you up to 50 HZ. Anything beneath 30 HZ is almost unheard by the human ear.
• 8 ohms – This is the amount of resistance that will be placed on the amp by the speaker. The lower the number, the more resistance that it places on the amp. An 8-ohm rating is pretty good.
• Sensitivity of 90 dB – This interprets the amount of power that is needed by the speakers. 85 dB is considered average by the industry, and over 90 is great. This specification is extremely important, yet sometimes the number is not standardized. So check with the workers of the store you are buying from get some more information on this spec.
