HDTVs will allow the audience watching the television to experience the improved picture quality and enhanced sound system. These improvements made to the high definition television give the audience the sensation of actually being in the show or movie that they are watching. If they are watching a college basketball game, they will actually feel as if they are courtside watching the game, listening to the coaches yell at the referees and watching the players sink baskets from the three-point line. If the audience is watching a movie set in the Colorado Mountains, they will be able to hear the nature sounds around them and be able to visualize actually being in the mountains as well. Another advantage to owning a high definition television is the fact that, most of the time, high definition televisions last longer than analog televisions. So along with the advantage of a better and clearer picture quality and an enhanced sound system, a high definition television will also more than likely last longer than a present day analog television. To some people, these advantages would be worth the added expense of purchasing a high definition television.
