Sony is introducing a line of five new home theater systems that offer a great functional power for film and music lovers.

The new designs offer simple surround sound setup features, including a new digital cinema calibration system and a multi-speaker formation function.

The automated speaker setup technology utilizes Sony's digital signal processor to ensure optimal speaker settings for your living room, measuring, and then automatically adjusting for speaker placement, distance and delays using a supplied microphone.

"Better sound," is basically what all that jargon means.

The practical application of the multi-speaker formation function is that it allows for different formation settings, so you can keep all the speakers in the front of the room if you want. All of this can be navigated and selected on-screen via supplied remote.

Somehow I doubt this will make a substantial difference in my 350 sq. ft. apartment, but a man can dream, I tell you. A man can dream.
