If you long ago made the jump in computer technology from CRTs to LCDs you know of the potential benefits of possibly having a home theater television utilize the same means for LCD televisions. Well, LG and Phillips have developed a - get this - 100 inch LCD screen, at this point the largest LCD screen available.
One hundred inches. Seriously.
That is one enormous screen, but even at 100" or 120", home theaters opting for a giant screen will still have better luck with a front projection which offers similar resolution at about a third of the price.
But that isn't to say that the technology is not on the rise. If Phillips and other manufacturers can make you pay three times as much for one particular solution over another, they'll probably work on making that technology more affordable and accessible. I just hope they make it worth our while.
