Discover HD theater

I found the program interesting for two reasons: First, it demonstrated to mainstream America the skill level that goes into the field of custom installation. I also liked the show because it showed that consumers don't have to spend a ton of money to have a really nice home-theater system.

What I wasn't fond of however was that the programmed bordered on a near advertisment for Monster Cable and its various product lines, which includes power conditioning, cabling, loudspeakers and A/V furniture. Normally, I commend Monster for educating the masses on the importance using quality products such as cabling and power conditioning, but in this case I found Monster's participation too blatant to serve the custom industry any good. I also didn't like the fact that the show's format tried to duplicate the "Trading Spaces" formula by showing the installation crew running around to button up the install. I personally would have liked to have seen the show cover more of the audio and video calibration side of things, which they barely mentioned.

This guy goes on to give a hesitant approval of the home theater specialty program, though he does have a few suggestions...like bringing in Snoop Dogg to host. "Fo-shizzle, ya'll. Just hook the D-pizzle up with your seven-point-whizzle and that sh*t will be ready to flow, aite?"
