Caring for Your Flashlight

Use common sense in taking care of your flashlight. Don’t drop it onto the ground or rearrange its parts. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and don’t soak it in water. In most cases, simple proper use will keep your flashlight in top condition for many years.

If you don’t regularly use your flashlight, you should still check the batteries on occasion, just to make sure you still have a bright beam. Most batteries have a long shelf life, however, and should be fine even if you don’t use them. Change your batteries when the light beam becomes noticeably dim.

If you have leaky flashlights or batteries, throw them away. On the other hand, if only the body of your flashlight is broken (perhaps the aluminum is scratched or the plastic is cracked), you probably don’t need to replace the flashlight. If you ever do need to replace the flashlight, use the warranty on your current flashlight if your flashlight had a warranty.
