This feature can make even smaller gardens appear beautiful. It can cost a few hundred dollars to supply and fit one but the overall look you can achieve by having this little wonder at the end of your garden may prove to be worth it.
There are a few factors you do need to consider and here are just a couple of ideas before you decide to get started.
· The view of the pond from every angle, would it look out of place in certain rooms?
· The pond size. I would recommend if you have a really small garden not to put a pond in because there is precious little space without adding this feature. It could ultimately decrease the value of your home
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) website states that children under the age of 5 are at the most risk of drowning in a garden pond. My recommendation is not to get one but if you decide to then you need to supply high strength mesh netting. This will ideally be 6mm or 8mm in diameter and needs to be placed on top of the pond above water level. You also need to ensure that it can hold a child’s weight.
Top Tip: If you decide to have a pond in the garden and you want to have an electric pump to filter any dirty water it is wise to seek professional advice on how to use this kind of equipment safely and without risk.
