What if you want different effects at the same time?

There are three different possibilities for those who say that they want more than one of these different effects at the same time. The first is the most expensive but the easiest for those that don’t want to deal with making stuff work. This way is very clean. Different companies have seen this need and made multi-effect pedals. They will combine a tuner, a “wah-wah,” and reverb pedal into one unit. Though they’re much more expensive, everything is connected into one unit. This means that instead of three different cords to trip over during a show, you just have one. Also you need to consider whether the purchase is wise. If you already have a reverb and a tuner pedal and then want to get a multi-pedal, you can either waste money buying a multi-pedal and keeping the other two single pedals, or try to sell your other two.

Another possibility is to simply just connect them on top of a non-slip surface that will hide cords as well. A lot of bands will bring carpets with them to put their pedals on so that they don’t slip around. This also allows you to slip all the cords underneath for the visual appeal. The final possibility is to make an effect board or platform. Using carpet, wood, and metal you can place pedals into one unit that has all the cords contained within it. You just carry all the pedals with you in one unit. Some people make these on their own or you can go to a guitar store and buy a pre-made one. Purchased ones also tend to cost a bit of money.
