Chichicastenango or just Chichi, is located in the Departamento of Quiche. It has a population of almost 100,000. Chichi is most famous for the market on Thursdays and Sundays. Besides the attraction of its market, it is very strong religious point for Mayan culture, and Catholic and Mayan religions blend in a very unique way.

In the market you can find a variety of items. Wooden masks used in ceremonial rituals, although what you will find in most places are specially made for sale, textiles, handcrafts, and a lot of usual and unusual things that can be found in the market.
