On day three, spend your time in the legendary city of Sparta. Sparta is the primary town of Laconia and was replaced by the newly founded town of Mistra in the thirteenth century. While spending the day in Sparta, visit the Menelaion, which is the assumed location of the palace of Menelaos and Helen.
In the afternoon, visit the Archaeological Museum of Sparta. The museum is located in a neoclassical building in the middle of Sparta on Dionysiou Dafnis Street. Inside the museum, visitors will appreciate artifacts from the digs at Sparta and other sites in the area.
