Spend your final day in Greece driving along the Bay of Nafplion. Stop in to explore the small Early Bronze Age site of Lerna, a site occupied from Neolithic times onward. In the middle of the site is an early Helladic palace, called the “House of the Tiles”, which was constructed around 2200 B.C. It was burned down hundreds of years later and buried under a mound of earth enclosed by a great circle of stones.

In the afternoon, examine the remains of the Sanctuary of Asklepios, the Greek god of medicine, found at Epidaurus. Later explore the Argos Archeological Museum, which boasts artifacts from all eras. Among the exhibits is a Mycenaean bronze helmet and breastplate as well as an Archaic pottery piece revealing Odysseus blinding Polyphimos.

Spend the evening relaxing at a magnificent spot in Nafplion with spectacular sunsets. The area is located below the stony promontory of Akronafplia and the fortified hill of Palamidi. Nafplion’s numerous hotels with the surrounding beauty of the area make this a popular spot to spend your last evening in Greece.
