Start your last day early by heading to the National Archaeological Museum, the most important archaeological museum in Greece and one of the richest in the world in relation to ancient Greek art. The building of the museum began in 1866 and was finished in 1889. The collections within the museum represent all the cultures that thrived in Greece. The Museum features artifacts and art from the Minoans. These ancient tribe peoples were once the dominant controllers of the Aegean Sea. In addition, the collections within the National Archaeological Museum include prehistoric items, pottery and minor art, sculptures, and Egyptian art.

In the afternoon, travel through the city center and stroll past the Old University complex to the Goulandris Cycladic and Greek Ancient Art Museum in Kolonaki.
If you want to escape the city, and enjoy immaculate scenery, in the late afternoon, take a leisurely walk through the National Gardens of Athens. This magnificent oasis provides visitors a welcomed reprieve from the bustling city. Pack a picnic lunch and stroll through the duck ponds and small zoo as you enjoy the day outside.

Spend your last evening in Athens by enjoying a ballet performance at the Odeon of Herod Atticus, or, if it is winter, a concert at the Megaron Symphony Hall.
