In recent news, Georgia has set to begin negotiations with Moscow over the legalization of control points in the Abkhazian and South Ossetian sectors of the state border, as reported by Economic Development Minister Irakli Chogovadze...

Oh wait....that's the wrong Georgia. My bad.

The Georgia House of Representatives recently passed the controversial "Bible Bill," which allows public high schools to offer classes on the Bible. Passing with an overwhelming 151-7 vote, high schools in the state will now create elective courses on the history and literature of the Old and New Testaments.

The proposal outlines the Bible as a primary text, but allows the local school board to determine which version is used. Focal issues in the classes will include morality, culture, "values," and law - treating the Bible as an educational supplement.

Educational supplement or no, that pesky old constitution of ours says no to the Lordy in state institutions, so Georgia is going to have to do some legal finagling to keep the federal branches from coming down with fists of fury. Could be interesting.
